We will sketch a design, get your approval and ship the carving to you. All we need to replicate a design is pictures for reference. We can fully preserve the piece or give a list of detailed products to use. Anything is possible :) With the right maintenance your piece will last a lifetime! Keep in mind these carvings are created using wood, and wood does tend to check and crack. It is the natural process of the drying out of a log. The outside dries faster than the inside. That is why it is best to keep the outside of the log preserved well, to keep the moisture in and allow it to dry slowly. We also do carvings in half logs and quarter logs to expose the core and help eliminate the cracking more. If you don't want the cracking, purchase a piece from the molded duplicates and we can guarantee they won't crack! They look just as nice and they are less than half the price!
